What is Brix?
Developed by the German chemist Adolf Brix, the Brix scale is the measure of sugar in a liquid.
Winemakers look for a certain level of Brix before harvesting grapes. For example, if grapes were picked at 20 degrees brix they consist of 20% sugar.
